It’s been great to see the Urban Park being used as it was originally intended with the market-place area being used for the benefit of Fairfield residents.
The food stalls have been a welcome reprieve for us who have been unable to eat out and the two original vendors, La Crepe Franglaise and the Roaming Dough Pizzas, have proved very popular, as has the Fish and Chips guy now a regular Friday night provision.
Other traders have been so watch this space!
The original concept of the Urban Park was that the market area was available for local traders in a farmers’ market style, local organisations and charities to have fundraising stalls. We have been organising a quarterly market but requests to use it have been scarce so hopefully this is one bright spot to come out of the pandemic.
Other food vendors visiting the market place each week are:-
Millie Martindales – Artisan Breads, Pastries & Doughnuts. The stall runs on a Friday morning between 8:30 am and noon. You can pop along and see what they have or to avoid disappointment you can pre-order on their website www.milliemartindales.co.uk
Hirdy’s Baps – Breakfast offerings or pancakes. This stall runs on a Saturday morning between 08:30 and noon.
Bite to the Kaur – freshly cooked Indian savoury snacks. This stall runs on Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 7ish.
If you have an idea or a cause that you would like to see on the area, then please email us at [email protected].
